What is BlobShift?
BlobShift is an image processing API for developers. Upload a photo and get optimized WebP and AVIF with resize, smart crop, watermark, and privacy cleanup. Files are kept for a short time based on your plan — long enough to use in your product, not forever storage.
Who is BlobShift for?
Indie builders, startups, and agencies that need reliable image optimization without standing up workers, queues, and object storage themselves.
How is this different from Cloudinary or imgix?
Those are broad media platforms. BlobShift is focused: process images, deliver URLs, expire on a clear schedule, and bill by images processed — without opaque credit systems.
How fast is it?
Most images are ready in a couple of seconds. Larger files take a bit longer; your app can wait for ready or listen for a webhook.
What am I billed for?
Processed images per month. Free includes 500 images and 7-day retention. Pro is $19 for 10,000 images and 30-day retention. Scale is $79 for 75,000. Paid overage is $2 per 1,000 images.
How long are images kept?
Free plans retain optimized assets for 7 days. Pro and Scale retain for 30 days. You can delete earlier anytime from the console or API.
Which SDKs do you support?
JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Python, and Go — thin clients over a documented HTTP API.
Do I need to manage my own storage?
No. BlobShift is fully managed. You upload through the API or console and receive delivery URLs. Bring-your-own buckets are not part of the current product.
